Always check credentials of anyone claiming to be a professional office designer. Boyd can help in locating your equipment, utilities, etc. for you, your architect, or contractor. Boyd also works very closely with several of the well known professional orthodontic office designers in the USA.

Q:  Are Boyd Delivery Units computer compatible?
A:  Yes, all Boyd Delivery Units have the ability to provide access to a CPU, Flat Screen Monitor and Keyboard w/ Mouse.

Q:  Where does a CPU go when putting a computer in a delivery unit?
A:  Typically, a CPU has a dedicated "water proof" compartment in the rear of your Boyd unit for easy access.

Q:  Don't CPU's generate heat?
A:  Yes, but Boyd has worked very hard with the hardware vendors in developing a venting system that provides proper airflow over the CPU to prevent equipment damage and decreased efficiency.

Q:  I have heard about the "biofilm" bacteria issue presented in the tubings of delivery units.  Does Boyd offer a solution to this problem?
A:  Yes, Boyd is the only orthodontic manufacturer that provides an "Airflush" system (standard) that gives you the ability to "blow out" the water-side of your 3-way syringe and high-speed hand piece.  This should be a part of your normal shut-down protocol on a daily basis to minimize the growth of bacteria in your tubings.  Boyd also recommends periodic flushing your tubing lines with an approved disinfectant to maximize results.

Q:  Does Boyd have a Self-Contained Water System?
A:  Yes, we offer a air pressurized self-contained water system that gives you the ability to provide delivery of distilled water, sterile water, or an alternatvie to "tap" water.  This system also precludes you from needing a "backflow" check valve at each and every unit.  Please contact Boyd for more details on this helpful system.

Q:  What type of drawers does Boyd use in the construction of their delivery units?
A:  We are very proud to offer a dove-tailed all maple drawer body with Boyd units.  This drawer system is not only beautiful, but durable and easy to clean/maintain.

Q:  What type of drawer glides does Boyd use?
A:  Boyd offers a very high-end "soft close"  full extension under-mount drawer glide system to provide a smooth, durable and high-end feel to your delivery units.  Undermount drawer glides provide maximum side to side drawer width capability for the ultimate in storage capacity.

Q:  Does Boyd offer a "Anti-Bacterial" delivery system?
A:  Yes, Boyd is the only orthodontic manufacturer that offers a truly "sterile" water delivery system.  With the use of a membrane system capable of filtering out bacteria down to 10 microns, and a system featuring silver nitrite impregnated tubings, Boyd offers the only "clean" delivery system.  Please contact Boyd for more details.

Q:  What utilities are requied to hook-up a Boyd delivery system?
A:  That depends.  If you do not utilize a self-contained water system, you would need compressed air, vacuum, water, electrical. If a self-contained water system is utilized, then you would need all but water for hook-up.

Q:  Do Boyd delivery units include hand pieces?
A:  No, you must provide your own hand pieces.

Q:  Do Delivey Units require electrical approval?
A:  Yes, all delivery systems that incorporate an electrical outlet need to be approved by an authorized testing laboratory such as UL or ETL.  The electrical approval must be to the standard 60601 for medical/dental devices.  Some of our competitors do not have any approvals or test to a lower standard.  Please verify that any delivery unit you purchase has the proper approvals, or you may face very "expensive" after the fact compliance requirements before taking occupancy of your new practice.
